UNLOCK MEANGINGFUL Communication

JOIN OUR 1 DAY Experiential Seminar & EXPLORE HOW TO Communicate & Interpret Meaning, SO YOU CAN MAKE Genuine Connections With Yourself & OTHERS.

For a day in Athens, we aim to guide you in understanding the richness and complexity of your interactions by showing you how to delve deeper into what is said to reveal the essence of what is being communicated.

This program can be tailored to personal and business objectives.

This experiential seminar helps untangle the complexity of communication and discover how to participate in meaningful interactions. You realise that effective communication is about going beyond the surface-level meaning of messages when interpreting and conveying feelings and ideas. You learn that harnessing the power of symbols and giving them purposeful direction is the essence of personal wisdom that leads to self-empowerment.

Communication is like the key ingredient in a recipe. It is what brings all the flavours together into a great-tasting outcome. Whether by chatting, texting, or even just a friendly nod, it’s how you form and maintain your relationships. Good communication keeps misunderstandings at bay and helps you navigate life’s ups and downs with the support of others.

Throughout the day, you are accompanied by a Sophia’s Best Mentor, who facilitates your endeavour into your way of thinking and your use of words to communicate. These activities aim to help you gain insight into:

"

Speech is the representation of the mind, and writing is the representation of speech.
Aristotle

"

A Sophia’s Best Mentor prompts you with topics that address personal or business issues and general themes for discussion. You veer from formalities and express yourself freely in simple, everyday speech. We want to encourage your innate ability to communicate, regardless of unrefined phrasing, unstructured sentences, or unique forms of expression. We won’t be looking at the dressing of your words but rather the meaning behind them.

Through different types of dialogue and monologue, you start to consider how you speak and listen. What are your intentions in the conversation? Are you argumentative or communicative? Do you defend your opinions or define your ideas? How do you try to understand? What type of questions do you ask? How do you peel back the first level of interpretation?

Sophia’s Best Dialectic Games allow you to observe the nature of your communication but also actively understand how to better it. Take part in our seminars to enjoy the benefits of these activities in exploring your patterns of thought and the way they influence your communication.

We spend the whole day together. As such, every moment is organised in detail and provided for in full, from activities to food and beverages. We’ve ensured your appetite (intellectually, emotionally and gastronomically) is well taken care of.

Through comical and theatrical activities, you practice qualitative listening and speaking in a humorous and spontaneous way. You find value and purpose in one another’s words as you receive and return personal understandings and truth. You will get to play and experiment with the very process of creating meaning through communication.

The best conversations happen across tables with plentiful plates and glasses of wine. It is only befitting, then, that you explore meaningful communication in a similar way. Hearty snacks and a filling early dinner accompany your theatrical games and conversational activities. You eat and drink as you question your thinking patterns. Evaluating how the way you articulate thought influences the way you construct thought – and vice versa. You are peering into the route of your words to discover your path of reasoning. As you improvise monologues with full stomachs or try to stitch together scattered dialogue, you’ll find yourself looking past “what” was said to truly understand  “how it was said” and “why”.

All snacks and meals are authentically Greek and made with local, organic produce. Local beverages, including wine, will accompany our discussions and meals.

The seminar is conducted in English or Greek.

This particular seminar is designed for one day, the limited time allocated for our seminars, at a time of your convenience.

You can, however, contact us and request more days. The duration of the seminar can be extended to more accurately align with your objectives. The longer you allow yourself to practice dialogue and the exchange of ideas, the better you become at understanding how you communicate and why, paving the way to an improved and more effective connection with yourself and others.

This particular seminar takes place in Athens, where you can spend the whole day wandering through the hills of the city’s historical centre. We have chosen this area not for its touristic value but for the richness of symbolism it provides. And because communication concerns how we use symbols, Athens is the perfect location for their examination.

Thisio, Filopappou and Pnyka become your home for fruitful conversation and meaningful communication. Albeit personal or business matters, you will unravel in open dialogue as you stroll cobbled streets winding around the Parthenon or rest on slopes shaded by olive trees.

This seminar can be attended by a minimum of two people.

However, we encourage the participation of more people because learning is more constructive in the company of friends.

We look forward to discussing and deciding the transportation arrangements for the day seminar together. Your preferences and feedback are essential to meet your needs and expectations for a comfortable event experience.
